The Friends of the Kennebec River Rail Trail was formed as a nonprofit in 1996 to assist in the construction, maintenance, and promotion of the 6.5-mile-long rail trail from Augusta to Gardiner. As a nonprofit, the Friends of the Kennebec River Rail Trail relies on its members for financial support and volunteering to assist in the maintenance of the trail as well as financial contributions from businesses and foundations. We welcome your support, both financial gifts and donations of time for doing volunteer work on the trail.
